Guided hiking in the breathtaking Gråtådal-nature.

When hiking you will:

-          Experience calcareous solid rock in the midst of the beautiful forest, with a rich fauna, plant- and bird life.

-          We will introduce you to interesting local history, as Gråtådalen once was a populated area.

-          We walk along the glacier rivers Gråtåga and Rønåga.

-          And you will witness how the nature, and the life in and alongside the river, transforms as you ascend through the landscape.

-          We will visit the grottos, both the active and inactive, and see how water and loose masses of stone has created passages within the caves. We will tell you everything there is to know about the different stone formations etc.

This area is unique! Due to the calcareous ground, the nature is flourishing.

There are also vast amounts of water in the ground, and in wintertime beautiful ice-formations can be seen.

P

The area has a lot to offer such as moors, birch groves, spruce, preserved landscape, plane mountains and steep peaks.  Many seldom and conserved flowers are to be found. There is also a diverse bird life, and wild animals such as elk, fox, glutton, hare, lynx and stoat.

On all our hiking trips, both above and below the surface, our main goal is to enjoy the nature. We’ll eat traditional food and drink coffee by the fireplace.

We also arrange guided hiking trips at wintertime.

Below you will find suggestions for alternative hiking trips we arrange during summer. Please book a day in advance.
